Marion is a consultant, cultural manager, and facilitator in the documentary and NGO sectors. She believes in the need for structural change and seeks to create spaces where critical interaction is possible and people can come together.
She co-founded the Documentary Association of Europe (DAE), was its co-director from 2020-2024, and serves now as a board member and senior consultant. Additionally, she advises the DW Akademie Film Department and works as a consultant and mentor with transnational organisations. Marion is a board member of the Network of Arab Alternative Screens (NAAS) and a member of the European Film Academy. She also co-founded ARTEF, the Anti Racism Taskforce for European Film, and served as its director from 2021 to 2024.
In 2014, Marion co-founded DOX BOX e.V. in Berlin, holding various positions until 2020, including project manager for the Documentary Convention in collaboration with the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture. Over the past 15+ years, she has organised public arts events and conferences and worked with social enterprises and non-profits in the UK, Egypt, and Germany including Social Enterprise UK, the Goethe-Institut, and the European Film Market/ Berlinale.
Marion co-authored a guide to setting up an association in Germany (2021/22) and a publication for the Institute for Foreign Policy on equitable support for international relocation. She holds a Master's in Arts Administration and Cultural Policy from the University of London and a Diploma in Events Management.
