NAAS General Assembly at Marrakesh international Film festival

On December 4–5, Network of Alternative Arab Screens (NAAS) held its fifth End of Year Meeting on the occasion of the Marrakech International Film Festival in partnership with the Ateliers de l’Atlas, a creative and professional platform launched by the festival this year to support filmmakers and to provide a place for exchange between international professionals and regional talents. The meeting was attended by the representatives of sixteen NAAS member spaces and the administrative board.

Distribution of the NAAS Prize for Film Circulation

Additionally, NAAS awarded the NAAS Distribution Prize to the film:

THE GRAVEDIGGER'S WIFE by Khadar Ahmed (Djibouti)
Produced by Bufo Ab (Finland) and Twenty Twenty Vision Filmproduktion (Germany)

This award, worth $3,000, was meant to enable the director to screen his film in several Arabic-speaking countries.

About the Marrakech International Film Festival

The Marrakech International Film Festival was created in 2001 by His Majesty King Mohammed VI to promote and develop the art of cinema and the film industry in Morocco. Today, the festival is a place of expression and discovery that takes up the challenges of diversity, exchange and enrichment. It is also an opportunity for Morocco to welcome and pay tribute to great personalities of the world of film.
