Talking About Cinema: Practices of Arab Alternative Screens

In the framework of the discursive project Exploring Networks Practices: Localities and Dislocalities. On February 18, 2024, NAAS hosted a panel discussion involving programmers and practitioners that delved into themes of spatial interplay and film exhibition at Sinema Transtopia.

The panel, titled Talking about Cinema – Practices of Alternative Screens, featured discussions on the intersection of film exhibition and spatial dynamics. Panelists Nada Bakr, Guevara Namer, Amine Hattou, and Abhishek Nilamber shared their diverse experiences with Rabih El-Khouri moderating, as they delved into themes of borrowed spaces and alternative film practices from and in the South.

The discussion was followed by an informal get-together, where attendees had the opportunity to continue conversations over drinks and finger food, fostering community connections.
